I went back to East Shopping Centre after a few weeks to see the full launch of a new type of UK Asian shopping scene. Thanks to the friendly and lovely PR company Bliss, I was lucky enough to get a special press invite to the opening on Green Street. And I wasn't the only one attending but the press from B4U, Lyca Mobile and some of the actors from Desi Rascals to mention a few.
You can imagine my excitement when l heard there was a new Asian shopping centre in London. I had to drop by as you all know I'm a big supporter of improving the fashion industry in the UK for Pakistanis, Indians and Bengalis.
Times are changing and slowly we are seeing the British Asian high street revolving. If you want another dimension to British Asian fashion from modest everyday to evening party Pret it's all in East Shopping Centre. For example, Aab Boutique was one of our personal favourites with everyday casual fashion similar to western fashion brand Zara but touching the fabrics and stitching you can tell the quality was far better than Zara. Finally, we have brands that we can go to for casual fashion and not have to rely on the high street with revealing clothing which everyone wearing and be different!
And l do have to add the boutiques in the shopping centre are different to what we already have on Green Street. For example, Asian Bride, Kaftan Kouture and Aab Collection all new to Green Street. Not just that it's all indoor, clean and incredible to be a part of it. With a cozy coffee shop where my sister and I reminisced on our purchases saying what a modern hub for Asian fashion in Britain - it's a breath of fresh air.
It wasn't only my sister (Sid) and me who were glad to attend as it was reported over 7500 visited the East Shopping Centre launch on Saturday alone who flooded in at the 12noon.
I can only thank East Shopping Centre for their tremendous work, putting Green Street back on the map with a bang and Bliss for supporting the team and keeping all of us in the loop since it was being built months ago.
The gallery photos are in this swanky gallery. Thanks to Bliss PR and Monir Ali (photographer) for supplying us with the photos.
