British Asian Trust's event, Rise on the Runway featured Raishma Couture.
It featured two acid attack survivors who took to the catwalk. Adele Bellis, 24, from Lowestoft in Suffolk, and Laxmi, 26, from Delhi, India (a renowned anti-acid attack campaigner) are survivors of horrific acid attacks. Adele was attacked by her ex-boyfriend while waiting for a bus. Laxmi was attacked as a 15-year-old, when she rejected the advances of a 32-year-old man. Both ladies were a real inspiration and wowed the room with their strength, bravery and beauty. They joined models in modelling couture from British Asian designer, Raishma and shoe designer, Lucy Choi, who is Jimmy Choo's niece.
