Yes, ladies I've gone to the dark side! You may look at the trainers and think hold on this blog isn't for me, oh it is...
I'm sure just like me you change your look often depending on your days activities and your footwear changes to suit the occasion. Well have you been to London recently? Apart from lowering your gaze during fasting have you walked around and looked down to notice something odd? If yes, you must have spotted the newest trend in London is ladies wearing lovely clothes whether it's office wear or Friday night and smart-casual looks with Nike trainers.
The days are gone when we would laugh at Aunty Jees in their finest Asian gear and trainers hobbling over for the bus station or going for a walk. I don't think Nike know how much of the UK Asians have kept them afloat in the last 10 years :D Those Aunty Jees and Asian boys have been going strong, but it's our turn now ladies!
After 10 years l did the same, purchased trainers to wear casual and when I'm in London. Apart from sports activities the last time l wore trainers casually was when l was in high school as l was a tomboy. And now the London life has consumed me and l can't carry on with my flats and heels. Most days l have two meetings and various events - my feet ache and the balls of my feet start burn from walking around London for the whole day.
I won't lie l would find the whole smart look with trainers looks a joke, forget the face I'm too self-conscientious when it comes to the fashion! Whereas now l realise I'm the plum as they are practical and understand why the city ladies wear them! You can always carry your heels in your handbag.
This is going to sound ridiculous but since purchasing the trainers l love walking again. I feel like I'm 15 again and a child experiencing life again away from driving and l love it! The Nike trainers l purchased are practically great, as they are breathable fabric and super light it feels like your walking on air!
Aunty Jees watch out the race is on!
