Yes, it’s that time again Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2014 (India Fashion Week) and my mouth was watering when l saw the opening show yesterday with Amit Aggarwal & Masaba Gupta.
I’ve added the video from yesterday’s opening show, you have no excuse to check it out and look hot this Autumn & Winter.
Amit Aggarwal’s collection had a hint of Christian Dior's the Egyptian Haute Couture collection with a touch of show stopping bridal, party wear and red carpet worthy garments. I love the way the Lakme fashion designer created extraordinary body architecture out of fabrics (photo 1, above).
As l am a promoter of casual, practical and everyday Asian fashion my favourites had to be the black sheer panel master piece, minus the frock layer you could wear to a dinner party just add a waist belt to break up the elements.
I’m loving Masaba Gupta who uses cream as a base colour & add 3-tone prints to create the new indian chic master pieces. And they are practical so perfect for British Asian fashion.
My personal favourite Asian fashion trend; patterned jackets are a classic statement piece! If you want to create that dazzling elegant look just make the jacket longer. And if your feeling spontaneous why not try plain fabric mixed with patterned fabric on the boards of a sari dress. For the final touch just add a statement necklace piece.
Stay tuned to the blog all this week as at the end of everyday l will be rounding up the best fashion trends from Lakme. Don’t worry it will be fashion trends you can wear during Eid, the office, dinner parties, evenings out and just everyday.
